Eilat, Israel - 31th Mar. 2016.
StartCom, a leading global Certificate Authority (CA) and provider of trusted identity and authentication services, announces FREE issuance of EV SSL certificates after successful verification.
Traditionally StartCom used to charge an identity validation fee for the verification of the applicant and provide certificates based upon this identity free of charge. This policy applied to all certificates except the top level EV SSL certificates. Today StartCom is pleased to announce the same policy for its entire product line.
StartCom CTO Eddy Nigg: “HTTPS secured with low level DV SSL certificates is the new Internet web standard to replace plain text ‘HTTP’; the new ‘HTTPS’ will be secured by EV SSL certificates. We recognize the need of EV SSL certificate as a standard configuration for any commercial and sensitive website. Another revolution of Internet security standards.
StartCom's EV validation fee remains unchanged at 0.03 US$, EV SSL certificates will be exempt from the 49.90 US$ fee which previously applied. We believe this change will benefit all StartCom subscribers and benefit the global Internet security since the EV green bar is an efficient way to recognize a secured web site and increase confidence for site visitor.
